10/2    Hoedown in the Holler Hoedown in the Holler is a new country music festival taking place on Saturday, October 2nd at Mandolin Farms. Schedule of Events 12 PM - Gates Open 2 - 3:30 PM - Inside Out 4 - 5:30 PM - Mandolin Farms Weary Jammers 6 - 7:30 PM - Shane Thompson & Rendezvous 8 - 9:30 PM - Lee Brice (whose current single "Love Like Crazy" has spent 50 weeks on the Billboard Country Charts & is currently #6 in the country) Ticket cost is $20 for the full day of entertainment and can be purchased online at www.hoedownintheholler.com or you can purchase tickets from the Fleming Co. FFA or from Kid Central Day Care and a portion of the ticket price will be donated to the selling organization. Tickets can also be purchased at Hinton Mills Flemingsburg location or onsite at Mandolin Farms. Children under 6 are FREE! Event will be held rain or shine. We will hold a silent auction that evening as well to raise money for the Chamber Scholarship Fund and we will collect donations for the Fleming County Backpack Program. Museum Society meeting (6 PM)   10/13    Fleming County Tourism meeting (5:30 PM)   10/19    Meet the Candidates Breakfast The Fleming County Chamber of Commerce will be holding a "Meet the Candidates" breakfast at Double S Entertainment on October 19th at 7 AM. This event is open to the general public, not just Chamber members. Candidates who choose to participate will be answering questions put to them by a moderator and there will be time after the panel discussion to mingle and network. We invite you to come out and meet the candidates who are running for office in Flemingsburg and Fleming County this Fall! For more information, call 845-1223. This event is intended to provide information for the voting public. The Fleming County Chamber of Commerce does not promote or endorse any particular candidate(s). (7 AM)   10/20    Flemingsburg Main Street committee meeting (12 PM)   10/24    Dr. Orloff Miller to speak at the Fleming Co. Covered Bridge Museum on Sunday, October 24th at 2 PM. Dr. Miller will be speaking about research techniques for deeds, warrants, and war veteran awards of land with emphasis on those typically found in Mason & Fleming Co. records. He will also discuss the historical surveying methods employed to establish the boundaries of the tracts. The museum is located at 119 E. Water Street in Flemingsburg.
