The mission of Leadership Horizons is to strengthen the leadership skills, information resource base and networking capabilities of the participants. The program also serves to broaden the participant’s knowledge of regional resources, problems, and opportunities. The program sessions are one day a month, the second Thursday, from September to May, excluding December. It is open to residents of Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Mason and Robertson Counties in Kentucky and Adams and Brown Counties in Ohio. Local companies are encouraged to send their employees to broaden their knowledge of the area. There is a $195 charge for the program which covers all of the costs.
The September session focuses on team building and gives the participants a chance to get to know each other. Other areas covered are Law and Justice, Education, Health and Human Services, State and Local Government, Economic Development and Agri-Business, and Tourism and Recreation. The program is celebrated in May with a graduation dinner. Sessions are planned by past graduates of the program.
There is an application process as class size is limited to 22 members. Click on the link below for a copy of the application. Applications must be received at the Maysville Chamber office by August 3, 2009. Those selected will be notified by mail and the first session will begin on September 10th.
